Why Organic ? Why Go Green ?

Organic Vegetables

Going green is the only right thing to do. Future generations and Mother Nature will thank you. It's common sense—what's good for the land is good for your health. That's organically farming – it sustains us all.
Every single thing we do each day has an impact on the planet -- good or bad. As an individual we have the power to control most of our choices and, therefore, the impact we create. Every little change to a more green and healthy lifestyle is better than none. The benefits of a healthy lifestyle are enormous both for yourself and for Mother Earth.
In the new Eco documentary film "Harmony" by HRH Prince Charles of Wales the Prince states: "I don't want my grandchildren or yours to come along and say to me, ‘Why the hell didn't you do something; you knew what the problem was."

Why organic? 7 good reasons:
Food produced organically is free of additives, artificial preservatives and colors. Artificial food preservatives, food colors and flavour enhancers are dangerous chemicals added to our food and are known to be linked to Hyperactivity, Attention-Deficit Disorder (ADD), Asthma, Cancer and other medical conditions.Organic food is produced without the use of pesticides. More than 400 chemical pesticides are routinely used in conventional farming and residues are often present in non-organic food. Pesticides can be harmful to human health and wildlife because they contaminate our water, food and air and accumulate in our cells. Exposure poses special concerns for children because of their high metabolisms and low body weights. Organic farming makes the biological systems remain diverse and productive over time.Organically produced food is free from synthetic growth or breeding hormones and therefore reduces human exposure to endocrine-disrupting chemicals.Organic produced food has higher nutritional value and better taste. Organic food tends to contain higher levels of vitamin C, cancer-fighting antioxidants, and essential minerals such as calcium, magnesium, iron and chromium. Researches also show that organically-produced foods are higher in antioxidants and other nutrients than their conventional counterparts (unrefined products)Farmers that grow organically are not exposed to pesticides. The quality of life for farmers and society as a whole enhances. Going organic will make you happier. It is a good feeling to know that we fuel our body with food free from all that is not natural for our body.
